Tamelabo 日本語

About

Tamelabo is a small media project that checks questions about data, math and science with short videos and hands-on web experiments. It is made for curious adults and students, plus parents and teachers. The Japanese and English editions are separate videos on the same YouTube channel.

Episode pages

Every episode has a YouTube video and an episode page on this site. The page goes live at the same time as the video.

  • Short answer: the answer to the video's question, in the first three lines.
  • Video: watch the YouTube video on the page.
  • Try it: when an episode has a lab bench, it runs right on the page, on phones too.
  • Explained: what happens in the video, with text and figures. Tap a time to play the video from that point.
  • Sources: every source for the facts and numbers used in the video and on the page.

Rules we follow

  • Facts and numbers come with a source.
  • Figures and charts are drawn from the underlying numbers. When Illusion Lab says two lines are the same length, they are exactly the same length.
  • Recorded numbers and projections are kept apart.
  • If researchers have not settled a question yet, we say so.
  • Hard words get a short explanation.

Found a mistake?

Please tell us in the comments on the episode's YouTube video. We will check, and if it is wrong, fix both the video description and the episode page.

Who runs this

Tamelabo (haccha-meccha.com) is run by one person, who chooses which episodes to publish, when, and with which title and thumbnail. Ads and analytics are covered in the privacy policy.
